Making Process |

First, the oil is heated gently. Then lye and water are combines to the oil as it reaches the appropriate temperature for each ingredient. As the oil and lye combine, they undergo a process called "soponification" to produce soap. When the soap mixture is of the desired consistency, it is poured into a mold where is cools and sets for 24 to 48 hours. Next, the bars are removed from the molds and allowed to "cure", or dry, for three to eight weeks.
